A Worthy Cause
Founded by Nick Olney, the Charity was created after Nick and his wife Olga lost their 2nd son PJ at 18 weeks gestation two and a half years after losing their first son Harry at birth.
After struggling with the loss of his two sons, Nick found it hard to stay interested in his previous passions in life and thought up the idea of travelling around Australia and helping others through fundraising for children's hospitals. But not for the hospitals. For the children and the parents. For the things that only a parent who has lost a child, can know a parent needs.
In particular, dads are always looked at to be the rocks in their families, especially in the hard times. Sometimes that is just too hard to make a reality. But Nick’s belief is that a man with a job ahead that means something, is a man with a reason for being, so that is where he began this.
Our Aim
The aim of our organisation is to raise money to help support families, and in particular dads, after losing a child either in pregnancy or soon after birth. Our aim is to make it a nation-wide support with a couple of ways of spreading support as outlined below;
- To raise awareness of men’s mental health issues around losing a child.
- To encourage men to get out and see the world whilst supporting one another.
- To raise money for moulds for hands and feet of lost babies for distribution to affected families in hospitals across Australia.
